After assessing anticipated inclement weather and participating in discussions with City of Laredo Emergency Management Team (EMT) the Laredo Independent School District will have a delayed start schedule on Monday, January 26, and Tuesday, January 27, 2026. All students and staff are expected to report to their campuses and/or work sites on Monday, January 26, and Tuesday, January 27.
However, all LISD campuses, administrative offices and departments are scheduled to open on Monday, January 26, and Tuesday, January 27, on a two-hour delayed start schedule.
LISD students are asked to report to their classes as per the following schedule:
Elementary Schools 9:45 a.m.
Middle Schools 10:00 a.m.
High Schools 10:15 a.m.
LISD operational services will continue throughout the day. The Transportation Department will be driving their regular routes and delay their pick-up times to accommodate Monday’s delayed start schedule. Custodial staff are ensuring that all campuses are properly heated and ready to continue instruction in the classroom. The LISD Child Nutrition Program is preparing warm, nutritious meals, which will be served to our students during the day. Parents are reminded to dress their children warmly and in winter apparel.
All Monday games will be cancelled. All Tuesday games will be played on Wednesday, January 28.
LISD will continue to monitor weather forecast and road condition. If the weather conditions deteriorate and the schedules are changed, LISD families will be notified via local media and the district’s website and social media.
