🏈 A Great Night of LISD Football and School Pride! 🐎🐂
The Nixon Mustangs hosted the Cigarroa Toros at Shirley Field on Friday night. Before kickoff, Nixon seniors took the field alongside their parents in a special recognition of the support, dedication, and teamwork that have helped them throughout their high school journey.
Both teams continue preparing and giving their all during the 2026–2027 season—demonstrating the same commitment and determination on the field as they do in the classroom.
Congratulations to both teams, and best of luck this season!

Meet Daniella “Nanis” Ovando, a 3rd-grade student at Leon Daiches Elementary.
⚽ Nanis loves playing soccer and proudly wears #5! As a defender, she’s a fierce competitor who isn’t afraid of a challenge. Her strength reaches far beyond the soccer field — she is a childhood cancer survivor and a beautiful reminder that our little heroes can grow up to do BIG things.

September is Suicide Awareness Month, and throughout the month, we invite our school community to wear purple every Thursday as a visible reminder that mental health matters and that no one should feel alone.
A simple act of solidarity can send a powerful message: We see you. We support you. We care. 💜
Wear purple. Show support. Stand together.

The Laredo ISD Parent & Family Engagement Program was proud to host our Parenting Skills session, “Small Footsteps, Big Footprints,” presented by Mr. Carlos R. Ramirez this past Friday.
With more than 100 parents and family members in attendance, the room was filled with meaningful conversations, valuable information, and a shared commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of our children. The session reminded us that even the smallest actions we take as parents can leave lasting footprints on our children’s future.
A special thank you to Mr. Ramirez for sharing his knowledge, encouragement, and insight with our families, and to every parent who joined us and continues to invest in their child’s success.
Small footsteps today can lead to BIG footprints tomorrow!
