This morning, the Laredo Independent School District dedicated the library in memory of Guadalupe “Lupita” Cortez.

Mrs. Cortez served LISD for 36 years, impacting generations of students as a teacher and as principal at Nixon High School and Gallego Elementary, to mention some. Her dedication, leadership, and passion for education shaped countless lives and left a legacy of excellence.

Today’s dedication honors her lifelong commitment to learning—a lasting reminder of her influence and love for the LISD community.

This morning, Martin High School presented Interim Superintendent Guillermo Pro with the El Catrín de los Tigres Award in recognition of his support and school spirit. 🐅

The celebration also featured vibrant Día de los Muertos performances by the MHS Folklórico, VMT Folklórico, and Mariachi Los Tigres del Sur, highlighting the rich traditions and pride of the Tiger community. 💀

👻 Spooky season was in full swing at Santa Maria Elementary! 🎃Fifth grade students dove into hauntingly good stories and explored the world of the unknown with a visit from the Laredo Paranormal Research Society. 👀🔦 They learned about investigation tools, viewed photos and videos, and ended the day with a sweet Halloween treat! 🍬
