The LISD Fine Arts Department hosted the Mustang Team Feeder Pattern Fine Arts Extravaganza. The entertainment included the Mustang Feed Pattern Elementary Choir, Milton Elementary Ballet Folclórico, Nixon High School Ballet Folclórico, Lamar Middle School Mariachi, Lamar Middle School Orchestra and Band, and Nixon High School Cheerleaders and Band.

The LISD Parent and Family Engagement Department attended the Parent and Family Engagement World Cup Summit 2026 at Region One ESC in Edinburg, Tx. The conference is dedicated to strengthening partnerships between families, schools, and communities across Region One. This year’s theme, Parent and Family Engagement World Cup Summit: One Team, One Goal, highlights the power of collaboration as one team to support student success.
The PFE staff and parents enjoyed meaningful learning sessions and experienced mentoring from all levels of leadership at the conference.

Laredo ISD celebrated the accomplishments of the Webb County Legacy Scholars during a ceremony and dinner at the District’s Performing Arts Complex.
Honorees included students from Laredo ISD, United ISD, St. Augustine High School, and Harmony School. The evening was dedicated to recognizing their hard work, persistence, and achievements.

The LISD Athletic Office hosted the Triple A awards Ceremony at the LISD PA. The ceremony honored LISD middle and high school student-athletes. The students were recognized for having perfect attendance, straight A’s and a winning attitude. Each student was presented with either a Gold, Silver, or Bronze Medal for their academic achievements.
Vidal M. Trevino School of Communications and Fine Arts hosted this month’s Webb County Commissioners Court Meeting the VMT Auditorium. Students for LISD attended the meeting and were given an opportunity to see first-hand the different roles and responsibilities each elected and appointed county official has within the county. After the meeting the Commissioners Court held a Q&A with the students.
LISD students participated in the City of Laredo Solid Waste Department’s Garbage Truck Art Project, an educational public art initiative that promotes environmental awareness across the community. ♻️🚛
During the Earth Day celebration at Father Charles M. McNaboe Park, LISD winners were recognized for their creativity and commitment to protecting our environment. Their artwork will be featured on a city garbage truck, sharing an important message throughout Laredo.
