LISD releasing students at Nixon High and Trevino Magnet School
Due to a water line break in the Meadow area resulting in low water pressure, the Laredo Independent School District is releasing students at Nixon High School and the Trevino Magnet School today, Tuesday, November 7, at 12:30 p.m. The City of Laredo expects the water line to be repaired within the next several hours.

LISD elementary and secondary students took an adventure beyond the stars! University of Texas at Austin associate professor of Astronomy Dr. Steven Finkelstein presented a lecture on the earliest formation of the galaxy to students titled “Our First Glimpse of the Earliest Galaxies with the James Webb Space Telescope.”
Dr. Finkelstein's lecture focused on the earliest days of the universe as captured by the James Webb Space Telescope. Afterwards, students had the opportunity to ask questions.









Congratulations to Gallego Elementary School Special Education Teacher, Mr. Jorge Flores for being named the KGNS October Teacher of the Month. Mr. Flores goes above and beyond daily with his students and extracurricular activities outside the classroom. LISD and Gallego Elementary are so very honored to have him as our educator.

Students at Garcia Early College High School participated in the Let's "Chalk" About Mental Wellness campaign. The Phoenixes used sidewalk chalk to leave positive and motivational messages of hope and encouragement throughout the campus to help those who are struggling with mental health. #PhoenixPride









The 3rd Annual Cigarroa Christmas Classic Cheer and Dance Competition is fast approaching! Registration is only $25 per athlete. *See flyer for more information.*

The Christen Middle School National Honor Society, together with Student Council, collected teddy bears for the Webb County Sheriff's Office Share-A-Bear Project. The drive aims to comfort children who have experienced trauma through crime or natural disasters by providing them with a teddy bear.

Leyendecker Elementary School held a successful McTeacher's Night! Congratulations to the following Mighty Eagles who won the art contest and received gift baskets and gift cards provided by McDonald's San Bernardo Ave.:
