FRIENDLY REMINDER: Valentine’s Day is a special day for the LISD community. However, to further enhance our safety culture during these types of holidays, LISD is fine-tuning Valentines’ Day delivery protocols. Expectations are that all visitor procedures are followed as a Standard Operating Procedure. Please ensure the following:
Deliveries to LISD Campuses
• Delivery of Valentine gifts (flowers, candies, balloons, etc.) by vendors, parents and other visitors will only be allowed at each LISD campus between 8:00 am and 11:00 am.
• A preferred delivery method and best practice is to set up a table monitored by staff to receive all deliveries.
• Ensure campus visitor management safety protocols are followed at all times.
• No singing telegrams allowed.
• Gifts must be of reasonable size, must not be breakable, and must be clearly and firmly marked with the student recipient’s name, teacher’s name, and grade. Gifts with balloons will not be allowed on school buses as they could pose a hazard to the drivers and passengers.
• The name and contact information of the florist/company delivering the gift to the school must also be included.
• LISD is not responsible or liable for any misplaced or damaged merchandise.
Deliveries of Gifts to Students
• Only campus personnel are permitted to make classroom deliveries to students.
• Deliver and distribute gifts to students in the afternoon.
• No head mask/covering allowed at any time.
• Students are not allowed to share any non-wrapped food items.
• All food items must be store bought and not homemade.
• Any balloon/flower arrangements are to be taken home at the end of the school day.
