Greetings LISD Family:
Our long-awaited journey towards the highest level of State recognition has finally culminated in the distinction for which we have all been tirelessly working! With this being said, I am proud to announce that Laredo ISD has earned an accountability score of a “91” or an “A”Exemplary TEA Accountability rating for the 2021-2022 school year. This “A” rating reflects the State’s top scores in two areas---our District Academic Rating as well as our District Financial Rating. Today, we can officially celebrate this fantastic and well-deserved accolade with the understanding that it is yet another opportunity to shine among the best schools in the State of Texas!
Without a doubt, this rating has markedly been the result of the hard work, unwavering perseverance, and unyielding commitment of every student, staff member and our entire LISD community. We can confidently declare that the Laredo ISD legacy of excellence, which began 140 years ago, continues to multiply with the efforts of every LISD staff member who strives for the excellence to which our students are entitled. There is no doubt that you are the core of who we are and what we aspire to be for our children and our school community. Thank you for always working towards the dreams of every child for whom we are responsible; thank you for always committing yourselves to becoming more than average, and thank you for the countless sacrifices that you continue to make on behalf of all whom we serve.
On a more personal note, I must say that I am so very blessed to be part of this extremely talented and dedicated Team! While we have grown in so many ways as an LISD family, there is much that we continue to share as we learn and care for each other through the ups and downs of the work that we do together. This very strength and courage of convictions is what makes LISD the place to be!
Kudos to all for sticking with our mission, regardless of the challenges that have risen before us, especially throughout the last couple of years. Once more, congratulations and my most sincere and heartfelt thanks for your continued commitment to our students and District!
