Social Studies
Our mission in the Laredo Independent School District Social Studies Department is to provide students with an educational curriculum that presents a relevant understanding of the world, human interaction, and cultural diversity.
Students are prepared with the knowledge and understanding of the past and its implications on future world events and issues. Our C.A.R.E.S. curriculum provides students with exemplar lessons aligned to the TEKS and designed to actively engage students in social studies by interacting with various resources.
Our goal is to ensure that all L.I.S.D. students are successful in their learning endeavors and are able to employ higher-order thinking skills through an integrated curriculum.
