In our ongoing commitment to enhancing school safety, Laredo ISD will promote the use of clear backpacks for all students from kindergarten to 12th grade during the 2024-2025 academic year. This requirement excludes pre-K students. 



Students can carry a small, clear pouch in their backpack to store personal belongings such as cell phones, money, and toiletries. To assist families, each student will receive a sturdy clear backpack free of charge. Additionally, parents have the option to purchase their preferred transparent backpacks for their children.



It's important to note that the implementation of a clear backpack regulation alone does not guarantee comprehensive security. This proactive measure is just one of several updates aimed at improving student and campus safety.
