IMPORTANT NOTICE: Laredo ISD Extreme Weather 2 Hour Delay
In anticipation of inclement weather, Laredo ISD is delaying the start of the school day on Thursday, October 1, 2026, and Friday, October 2, 2026.
LISD students are asked to report to their classes as per the following schedule:
Elementary School: 9:45 a.m.
Middle School: 10:00 a.m.
High School: 10:15 a.m.
Parents are encouraged to send their children to school dressed appropriately. Outdoor activities are subject to cancellation depending on the weather.
LISD will continue to monitor weather forecast and road condition. If the weather conditions deteriorate and the schedules are changed, LISD families will be notified via local media, school messenger, and the district's website at www.laredoisd.org, and social media sites.

Christen Middle School 8th grade students had a surprise visitor last week. Olympian Jennifer “La Traviesa” Lozano stopped by the school as she was on her way to Colorado to begin her training for the U.S. boxing team. Lozano spoke to the students on the importance of making the right choices and to believe in themselves. La Traviesa even took time to shake hands and take pictures with the students.

Selected 6th Grade Science students had an exciting opportunity to visit Longhorn Cavern through the Webb County Outdoor Outreach Program! 🏞️🔬

Accompanied by Ms. Rodriguez and Mr. Castillo, our students enjoyed a memorable educational experience filled with hands-on learning, exploration, and discovery outside the classroom.

We are incredibly grateful for opportunities that allow our students to expand their knowledge through real-world experiences. A special thank you to the Webb County Outdoor Outreach Program for making this amazing trip possible! 💙💛

Mariachi Los Tigrillos de Oro brought music to the TAMIU Bilingual Conference-Session Program providing music for the conference attendees. Also represented Christen Middle School at the Laredo Grito Celebration celebrating the 216th anniversary of the Mexican Independence with the Consulado General de Mexico de Laredo, and el Instituto Cultural Mexicano de Laredo. Proud of our Mariachi Students.

World Suicide Prevention Day at L. J. Christen Middle School

Counselors and CIS worked together to create meaningful lunchtime activities where students wrote “Messages from the Heart”, spread awareness, and encouragement through chalk messages.
