Rodolfo “Rudy” Morales III was sworn-in to the Laredo ISD Board of Trustees for District 2 on May 9, 2023.

Mr. Morales is a native Laredoan and product of LISD. He graduated from Martin High School where he was Salutatorian for the Class of 2005. He also received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Texas A&M International University and graduated with a 3.9 GPA from the D.D. Hachar Honor’s Program in 2008.

In 2013, Mr. Morales graduated as Valedictorian of Thurgood Marshal School of Law at Texas Southern University. He was the recipient of numerous awards in law school including receiving the highest grades in Constitutional Law, Oil & Gas, Consumer Law, Local Government, and Advanced Legal Analysis. He was also awarded the Elvin R. Ross III Peer Excellence Award and Scholarship for his academic excellence.

Mr. Morales passed the Texas State Bar in 2013 and is currently a Lawyer at Martinez, Franklin, & Morales Attorneys at Law. He also served as a Misdemeanor and Felony Assistant District Attorney for five years. 

“It is a privilege to serve on the school board as it provides an opportunity to make meaningful decisions that shape the educational experiences and future of students in the community,” said Morales.  

Mr. Morales has been an active member in the community as he has volunteered his time with various organizations including the Laredo-Webb County Bar Association, Domestic Violence Coalition, Neighborworks Laredo, Community Action Advisory Committee, Laredo Area Community Foundation, City of Laredo Ethics Commission, and LULAC #12. In 2015, the Webb County Domestic Violence Coalition recognized him as Professional of the Year because of his work with domestic violence victims. In 2018, the Laredo Next Generation Rotary Club honored him with the distinguished Presidential Award for his service in the Laredo community.

Mr. Morales is married and a devoted parent of two children.

Mr. Morales will represent Daiches, Dovalina, and Macdonell Elementary Schools.
