A Day to Remember! Huge thanks to Ms. Guadian for organizing such an unforgettable trip for her students—many of whom experienced South Padre Island for the very first time! From breakfast at McDonald’s to exploring the zoo in Brownsville, enjoying a waterfront picnic, and heading out on a two-hour Eco Tour Cruise filled with sea creatures and dolphin sightings—it was a day full of adventure! The fun didn’t stop there. The group wrapped up the evening with dinner at Pizza Hut, gift shop strolls, ice cream treats, and live music and dancing under the stars on the boardwalk—topped off by a stunning firework display! Over 500 LISD student-athletes from Cigarroa, Martin and Nixon High Schools, and Cigarroa, Lamar, Memorial, and Christen Middle Schools were honored with a Bronze, Silver or Gold Medal for their perfect attendance, A Honor Roll, and positive attitude. The Triple “A” award is designed to encourage LISD student-athletes in developing strong academic skills, positive behaviors as role models, and the ability to demonstrate a positive attitude.
