Today, our GEAR UP students had the opportunity to attend the College & Career Access Summit at the Embassy Suites, where they participated in a Workforce Readiness Skills session focused on preparing them for future success. Students learned the importance of communication, teamwork, professionalism, and leadership skills that will help them both in college and in their future careers.
Experiences like these continue to inspire our students to think about their goals, build confidence, and prepare for life after high school. Our GEAR UP Facilitator, Jenny Torres, proudly accompanied the students and supported them throughout this valuable learning experience. We are proud of our students for representing our campus so well and taking advantage of this amazing opportunity! 🎓✨

Our 8th grade GEAR UP students had an incredible experience visiting Texas A&M International University! 🎓✨
Led by their GEAR UP facilitator, Mrs. J. Torres, students participated in a campus tour where they explored the Engineering Machine Shop and got a hands-on look at the tools, technology, and skills used in real-world engineering. They also attended an informative session on Disability Services, learning about the wide range of support and resources available to help all students succeed in college.
Experiences like this continue to open doors, spark curiosity, and show our students that their future in higher education is within reach. We are proud of their engagement and excitement as they begin to envision themselves on a college campus! 💙📚
