Laredo ISD Special Education Department hosted the 2026 Special Olympics Texas Area 21 opening ceremony and games at historic Shirley Field. Special education students from Laredo ISD, Jim Hogg County ISD, Webb County Consolidated ISD and Zapata County ISD participated in a variety of events. Each student received a medal for every event they participated in.
🎈🌈☁️Falcons Day 1 of Read Across America was full of learning and fun. The places we went library, Ms. Vicharelli's class, and ending with some technology training for our teachers. ✈️🚁💻

January 28th, our students at Farias Elementary officially hit the 100-day mark! From dressing up like 100-year-olds to counting out 100 snacks, it’s been a day full of fun, learning, and celebration. 👵👴🎈




The 5th Grade Science Club is excited to announce our Valentine Gram fundraiser! We are offering three different gram options at various price points to ensure every student has a chance to participate.

The Laredo Independent School District is hosting its sixth annual Scholars Golf Tournament on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Casa Blanca Golf Course.
Funds raised from the Golf Tournament will benefit scholarships for deserving graduating seniors from the Hector J. Garcia Early College High School, Raymond and Tirza Martin High School, J.W. Nixon High School, and Dr. Leonides Cigarroa High School
We are continuing to seek sponsors and teams for the tournament. If you need more information on being sponsor or want to register a team, please contact Bobby Trevino at rwtrevino@laredoisd.org or by phone at 273-1732.

Third grade classes were able to participated in a Bookelicious presentation that were offered by HEB. The author presented was Raul The Third. The students really enjoyed the opportunity the virtual story time.
