Thank you to Clear Choice Emergency Room for donating tickets to the San Antonio Spurs vs. Boston Celtics game to the head coaches of our three boys high school basketball teams from Martin, Nixon, and Cigarroa High Schools and the girls basketball team coach from Cigarroa High School. These four teams made the playoffs and Clear Choice wanted to recognize them for their hard work and dedication. All three of our boys varsity teams made the playoffs - a feat that hadn’t been achieved in 10 years.

Cigarroa High School/Sabas Perez Early College High School junior Dasha Soto earned 3rd Place at the Gateway Rotary Club Speech Competition! 🏅

We are incredibly proud of Dasha for representing our school with confidence, dedication, and excellence. Her hard work and powerful voice truly made our Toro community proud.

Mr. Torres and Mr. Zuniga’s Diesel and Automotive classes recently visited Lincoln Tech in Houston! 🔧🚗

Students explored hands-on career opportunities in Automotive, Diesel, HVAC, Construction, and more. It was a great experience seeing the training, equipment, and pathways available to help them succeed in the skilled trades. #FutureTechnicians

📣 Laredo College South Campus Open House

Students, parents, and community members are invited to attend the Laredo College South Campus Open House on Thursday, April 16 from 5:30–7:00 PM.

This is a great opportunity for students and families to learn more about the programs, resources, and opportunities available at Laredo College. Attendees will also be able to connect with different academic departments and campus support services.

✅ Admitted students can move forward with course registration during the event

We encourage our students and families to take advantage of this informative event and explore what Laredo College has to offer! 🎓

Attention students and families: For safety purposes, students will not be allowed to bring backpacks tomorrow, Friday, March 6, 2026.

Laredo ISD Special Education Department hosted the 2026 Special Olympics Texas Area 21 opening ceremony and games at historic Shirley Field. Special education students from Laredo ISD, Jim Hogg County ISD, Webb County Consolidated ISD and Zapata County ISD participated in a variety of events. Each student received a medal for every event they participated in.

Our teachers are Leveling Up with Technology! 📱🚀 We are so proud of our incredible educators who continuously invest in learning new ways to engage and inspire their students. Recently, they participated in a hands-on technology professional development session focused on maximizing the power of Clear Touch Interactive Boards in the classroom. From interactive lessons to dynamic student collaboration, our teachers are transforming learning into an engaging, student-centered experience. 💡✨ When teachers grow, students thrive!💙🐂🤙 #SomosToros

The results are in! The mystery of the fishbowl has finally been solved. After days of squinting, calculating, and logical guessing, we've counted every single sphere. Our Valentine's Day "Take a Book on a Blind Date" culminating activity brought out the inner mathematicians in all of you from a possible range of 100 to 700. 627 red and white balls were the total. It was a tight race, but three students had a real "eye" for the prize. Congratulations to our top logic masters: 1st-B. Esparza (624);2nd-A. Rios(600) and 3rd-R. Perez(590).💙📚💙📚💙

🎉 Congratulations to Ms. Soto’s Class for being featured in the Laredo Morning Times Kids Section! 📚✨ They celebrated World Read Aloud Day at the Cigarroa HS Library, sharing the joy of reading and inspiring young minds. We’re so proud of you! 💙📖🐂🤙

Our CHS Librarian, Ms. P. Sosa, and Ms. D. Burkle, Library Clerk, send out a big shout to these CHS Teachers, Ms. Arellano, Ms. Lopez, Ms. Pina and Ms. Soto, and students for participating in the World Read A Loud Day during the month of February. Let's continue to Level Up Our Literacy by bringing awareness of the importance of reading.📖 📚💙🐂
