The Vidal M. Treviño School of Communications and Fine Arts (VMT) officially launched its Red Ribbon Week activities today with an impactful drug awareness and prevention presentation delivered by Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Special Agent Francisco Lozano.
Addressing the student body, Agent Lozano shared critical insights into the physical, legal, and social dangers of illicit drugs, emphasizing personal responsibility, peer influence, and the long-term impact of making informed, healthy life choices.
The interactive assembly opened a vital dialogue for VMT students on substance abuse prevention and safety, aligning with the national Red Ribbon campaign's mission to foster drug-free youth and healthy communities.
Interim director, Ms. Gonzalez, expressed sincere gratitude to Agent Lozano for sharing his expertise and time with the campus, as well as to VMT faculty member Mr. Jimenez for organizing the educational event.
The presentation also showcased VMT's student photojournalism talent, with Commercial Photography student Kayla Carrera on hand to document the event and capture photos throughout the morning assembly.
