The Vidal M. Treviño School of Communications and Fine Arts (VMT) Drama Department took the stage this past Friday for a special performance of "Cuttin’ Line," an original short play directed by student Max Alonso.
The production offered students and audience members a compelling theatrical experience centered on an unexpected dilemma: a family standing in the afterlife must choose whether to patiently wait in line or take a second chance at life. Through tight ensemble acting and thought-provoking storytelling, the student-led production explored themes of choice, family dynamics, and second chances.
The project highlighted cross-disciplinary collaboration across VMT's fine arts programs. In addition to the performance by the cast and crew, Commercial Photography students made key creative contributions to the production's promotional materials and media coverage, with Alan Garcia Ramirez designing the official show poster and Roman Serna capturing production photography throughout the run.
Campus faculty and peers praised the production team for their artistic initiative and technical execution, celebrating another successful showcase of student talent and direction on the VMT stage.
