Purple and Silver Pride: Ryan Elementary Bobcats Shine in Championship Finals
It was a momentous day for the Ryan Elementary basketball program as the community gathered to support their youngest athletes. On January 20th, two of the school's 1st-grade teams took to the court for their respective championship games, draped in purple and silver and delivering a showcase of true Bobcat grit.
1st Grade Girls Claim the Title
The Ryan Elementary 1st Grade Girls team secured a hard-fought victory to become the reigning champions. In a defensive battle against the Lady Zebras, the young Bobcats managed to hold their lead until the final buzzer.
The game was a nail-biter from start to finish, with both teams playing aggressive defense. Ultimately, Ryan Elementary pulled ahead to finish with a 7-5 victory. The win marks a significant milestone for the program, highlighting the talent and discipline of these young athletes as they brought home the win for the purple and silver.
Co-ed Team Shows True Grit
The 1st Grade Co-ed team also reached the peak of their division, facing off against the San Isidro Raptors in a highly anticipated championship showdown.
While the Bobcats played with incredible heart and executed several impressive plays, they ultimately came up short against a tough Raptors squad. Despite the loss, the team left it all on the court, demonstrating a level of sportsmanship and determination that made the entire school proud.
A Heartfelt Thank You to the Bobcat Community
The success of the day wasn't just measured by the scoreboard, but by the overwhelming sea of support in the stands.
Ryan Elementary extends a huge thank you to the families, teachers, staff, and administrators who attended the games. Seeing the stands filled with fans showing their support provided a tremendous boost to the players.
