Laredo Independent School District and M.B. Lamar Middle School are proud to recognize sixth-grader Ethan Guzman as the September 2026 Student of the Month.
Ethan, the son of Ilysa Guzman, is an accomplished student-athlete and former M. S. Ryan Elementary School student who plans to attend J. W. Nixon High School in the future. Whether on the court, in the classroom, or out in the community, Ethan sets a bright example for his peers through his leadership and ambition.
At M. B. Lamar Middle School, Ethan plays on the basketball team while also maintaining a strong passion for baseball. Looking ahead to the future, he aims to play Major League Baseball while pursuing higher education at Texas A&M University in College Station to earn a degree in Veterinary Medicine.
Beyond academics and athletics, Ethan enjoys spending time outdoors, listening to his favorite band, The Outfield, and watching Bugs Bunny Looney Tunes. Faith and community service also play a central role in his life. He and his family attend San Martin De Porres Catholic Church, where Ethan actively volunteers with church activities.
