The football game between M. B. Lamar and L. J. Christen Middle Schools showcased a powerful display of community and leadership as administrative teams from both Lamar Middle School and Christen Middle School gathered on the sidelines to support their student-athletes.
The game matched two of Laredo Independent School District’s dedicated middle school football programs in a spirited contest. Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with student supporters, teachers, and parents, M. B. Lamar Middle School Principal Ms. Valdez and L. J. Christen Middle School Principal Dr. Perez led the charge in cheering on their respective teams.
While the game was intense, the real victory of the evening was the overwhelming show of school pride from both campuses. Athletic events like these serve as a vital extension of the classroom, instilling lessons in teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
"Having our leadership out on the field sends a clear message to our kids that we support them in every arena...whether it's in the classroom or under the stadium lights," said M. B. Lamar Assistant Principal, Sandra Trevino.
With both the Lamar Lions and Christen Cubs fighting hard for every yard, the game delivered high-energy action from kickoff to the final whistle. Regardless of who claimed the scoreboard win, both administrative teams left Shirley Field proud of the passion, heart, and grit demonstrated by Laredo’s young athletes.
