M. B. Lamar Middle School students showcased their talent, creativity, and innovation at this year’s Tech Expo, earning multiple top placements across a wide range of competitive categories. From robotics and coding to digital art and video production, Lamar students represented their campus with excellence and pride.
The Robotics Team, made up of Allison Salinas, Ruben Loreto, and Steven Rubio, earned 1st Place for their outstanding teamwork and innovative design. In Coding App Creation, Alberto Garza, Lizeth Lozano, Andrew Martinez, and Rafael Martinez earned 3rd Place for their creative and functional app.
Lamar students also made a strong impression in the visual arts categories. Sephora Alvarez earned 1st Place in Digital Artwork, while Sophia Cuevas earned 2nd Place. Sophia also achieved a special honor as the Tech Expo Drawing Contest Winner, with her design featured on all middle school Tech Expo shirts.
In multimedia categories, Zoey Gonzalez earned 1st Place in Video Production for her exceptional project, and Venice Gonzalez earned 2nd Place in Digital Animation for her impressive work.
Capping off an incredible day, the Coding Team, consisting of Gianna Guzman, Rodolfo Gonzalez, and Alberto Garza, competed against middle schools from across the district and earned 1st Place Overall, a major achievement for the Lamar technology program.
Tech Expo sponsor Ms. M. L. Garcia shared her pride in the students’ success, saying, “Our students continue to amaze me with their creativity, perseverance, and passion for learning. These achievements are the result of their hard work and the incredible support system they have from their teachers, families, and school. I could not be more proud of how they represented M. B. Lamar.”
