Guerra Superintendent Laredo Independent School
District
Dear
Parents:
Effective
April 16th – 20th, students in grades 3rd – 6th and 8th – 11th will
participate in the state-mandated TAKS testing. Students in these
grades will be tested in math, reading, science, and social studies.
Parents
play a critical role in the success of a child’s education. As a
parent, you can help your child achieve academic success on the 2007
TAKS exams by providing a lot of encouragement. It’s also important
for your child to get plenty of sleep in the night before, have a
nutritious breakfast, arrive at school on time, and have two #2
pencils ready.
Please
discuss the importance of the test and test preparation with your
children. Let them know that you think they will do a great job
because they are well-prepared. Send them to school with a positive
and cheerful attitude. The TAKS tests are not timed, but they must
be finished the same day they are administered. The students are
encouraged not to rush. They are to use their time wisely throughout
the day and apply the strategies taught by the classroom teacher.
I thank
you in advance for your cooperation.
Yours in
the interest of Children,
Veronica
