"It takes a village to raise a child"--this adage lies behind our goal to provide not only vital support to our students and staff, but also a means to provide timely and effective support. It is our fervent belief that our children's success is predicated on teamwork and the use of effective practices. We hope to provide the support necessary to build stronger relationships within our district's educational family and to provide assistance with problem solving and decision-making needs. Ultimately our students will benefit from the different perspectives we share and our varied educational experiences.

Curriculum & Instruction

Laredo ISD's instructional program is designed to address the diverse needs of the student population and the community. Its aim is to provide students with varied experiences that will help them develop into responsible, self-motivated, critical thinkers who can function in a cooperative as well as in a competitive setting.

Innovative and creative approaches which stress reading and writing across the disciplines and high order thinking skills are applied pre-k through grade 12. Interdisciplinary thematic instruction and other instructional initiatives that enhance learning are also employed.

Under this instructional focus, our instructional team developed and will continue to develop curricular resources that will assist administrators, teachers, and students with the support that they need.

Our goal is to bring everyone in the district together to do what is best for the children of our village.

"The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn."
-Alvin Toffler
